Yet Again India Not Registering the Win In series So far

Yet Again India Not Registering the Win In series So far

India bags another lose in the way down by 31 runs. Australia take 1-0 lead in the 2-match series. India failed to halt their losing streak Down Under with their poor run from Test cricket spilling on to limited-overs as the visitors lost the 1st T20 International against Australia at Sydney on Wednesday.

Scorecard

Chasing Australia's 171/4, India were restricted to 140/6 by the Australian bowlers who never let their opponents dictate the game.

Pacer Brett Lee, who last played an international game in August 2011, showed no signs of rustiness as despite starting off with a wide delivery he got rid of opener Virender Sehwag off just the third ball of the innings. After the wicket falling gambir and kohli settle down the things and maintain good run rate.

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli then combined to steady the innings but just when they looked to be getting settled, all-rounder David Hussey sent back Gambhir in the sixth over to start a mid-innings collapse for India.

Kohli and Rohit Sharma were also soon gone within the space of 11 balls with Sharma, who had many cricket experts asking for his inclusion in the Test team when India lost match after match, falling for a golden duck. He was bowled out by Hussey who took two wickets at the cost of just four runs in his two overs.

Four overs later all-rounder Daniel Christian removed Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina in successive overs to put more pressure on an already reeling India with still plenty of runs to get.

MS Dhoni tried to salvage it for his team but with too much to get there was little the skipper could do to turn the tide. Dhoni's knock of 48 off 43 balls, although, reduced India's margin of defeat, which could have again be a much bigger one.

Mathew Wade make a wonderful start to Australia in the way he scores his first international T20 maiden fifty and places Australia in drivers seat. For blistering 73 he gain man of the match.
