Good Game of cricket finally ends with tie

A spectacular finish was viewed by the Cricket fans in Australia, in the ODI between India and Sri Lanka. Cool Dhoni, who displayed good batting in the last overs.


The Fifth ODI in the Commonwealth Bank Series at the Adelaide oval saw the Sri Lankans fighting like fierce lions. But equally valiant were the Indians in the second half of the day. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. The batting prowess was too much for the Indian bowling attack. In the bowling department much commendable work was done by r Vinay Kumar who claimed three wickets. But neat bowling was done by R Ashwin who claimed two wickets. Again on the Lankans batting lineup, they did a tremendous leg work with L D Chandimal scoring the second highest in the match with 81 runs, just behind the Gautam Gambhir who smashed a magnificent 91 runs, while India batted in the second half of the day. M. Jayawardene helped the side with 43 runs. The Lankans wind up at 236 for nine wickets and set a good target to India.


In the second half of the game India played a brilliant knock, but it was the Lankans fielding that needed to be commended. The final overs batting of the Captain M S Dhoni who scored a brilliant 58, as the middle order collapsed, was worth the Man of the match award.  But unfortunately the match ended in draw giving both teams’ two points each. The Lankans bowling department created havoc on the Indian team. L. Malinga and T. Pereira claimed two wickets each, but it was Herath who controlled the batting with an excellent spell of 0-33 in 10 overs. India too wound up at 236 for nine wickets in the fifty overs and the match result was a draw.
